Every year I like to pick a word of the year. It’s something that sets the tone for the year. And I like to relate it to different things in my life like health, nutrition, family, friends etc. I think it’s a more updated way to set new years resolutions. In the past, my words of the year were frugal (2020), grateful (2021) and last years was focus (read more about it here). The words usually just sort of randomly come to me when I think about how I want to spend the next year ahead.
With that being said, my 2024 word of the year is….FUN! This year is going to be all about the fun and I am putting that first and foremost. Kurt and I were chatting on NYE and I told him my 2024 word of the year and he has also been embracing it. 2024 is going to be the year of fun and I’m so excited for it!
First off, I have so many trips planned that I am really excited about. We did zero travel in 2023 outside of road trips here and there to see family. February I am going to Mexico for one of my best friends 40th birthday. And in May Kurt and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we are going to Vegas. I’ve never been so I am really excited to see what it is all about. Eat good food, gamble, shop, lay by the pool, be kid free for a few days and spend time with my husband! I am really looking forward to it.
We have a friends wedding this summer that I am looking forward to. And later this summer we want to take Sloane on a weekend trip. We haven’t really gone on a real vacation with her so we figured this is the year. Plus I really think she would have a lot of fun at the age she is now.
Outside of traveling, I just want to be more social with my friends, more impromptu weekend get togethers instead of planning things out weeks in advance. More hosting in our home, more BBQ’s with family, more trips to the pool this summer and more! I want everyone in my family to have fun this year.
