Wedding Guest Dresses Under $200

It’s officially wedding season!!  How many weddings do you have this summer?  Kurt and I are pretty lucky in that we don’t have any this summer!  Our first one isn’t until September and it will be in Chicago, which we are super excited about.  Our last few summers were always super busy with weddings and I was always looking for a new dress to wear to weddings/bridal showers/baby showers, etc., so I have rounded up my favorite dresses under $200.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you are searching for a dress as a guest to a wedding:

1. Never wear white!  You don’t want to upstage the bride or compete with her.  This is her day- let her have ONE day!
2. Wear something that you can dance in.  The best part about weddings is when the dance floor starts heating up and you don’t want to be the one sitting in the corner because your dress is too tight.
3. Don’t wear anything overly sexy or revealing.  Grandma and Grandpa will not approve and you don’t want to offend anyone.
4. Think about other events you have.  Can you re-wear this dress again? Spending $200 on a dress you will never wear again is a waste of money.  Buy something you know you will wear to work, that upcoming baby shower, to another wedding, etc.
5. Take into consideration the dress code.  If this is a formal wedding, you should probably get a floor length gown.  Or is it an outdoor venue?  If it is, then you can get away with something more casual.  You want to make sure you are dressed appropriately.
