The 5 Fall Shoes you Need in your Closet

I have had a thing lately for shoes.  Don’t get me wrong, I love all shoes, but fall shoes are my absolute favorite.  I know it’s hard to think about the weather cooling down, but eventually it will.  And, girl, you want to be prepared for that first chilly fall day!

Every season I like to revamp my closet and find the holes that are missing.  I first start with my denim (you can read about the 5 pairs of jeans you need in your closet here) and then I move on to shoes.  To me jeans and shoes anchor your wardrobe.  After that, it’s just details.  Once you have a good foundation set in these two areas, you will have a lot easier time mixing and matching your wardrobe and creating new looks.

The start of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale always gets me thinking about fall and what I know I need for the upcoming season.  But I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but I always tend to freeze when the sale starts.  Do I really like this item or do I just like it because it’s on sale?  Or am I just being over exposed to it by all of the other bloggers wearing it, so I think I need it to?  This is what I went thru about a month ago.  And, believe me, I did my fair share of shopping at the sale, but I haven’t worn a lot of the items yet because I’m too scared something else will come out that is similar and I like better.

Anyway, I have some really great shoes that I have recently gotten for fall that I am so excited about.  Here is my review of my favorite shoes for fall:

Sole Society Smoking Slipper Flat

I first came across this shoe on Pinterest (you can find the pin here) and I, of course pinned it because I loved the pink color.  And then I kept thinking about them so I went back and ordered them right away.  At first I was a little bummed because they were a little stiff and uncomfortable.  I knew I had the correct size (for reference they run true to size), so I decided that I would wear them around the house for a few nights.  And after a few nights of breaking them in they are now so comfortable!  And I am absolutely obsessed with this color!  Pink velvet is going to be big for fall, so these will be right on trend!  If Kurt wouldn’t kill me or I had a ton of money, I would order these– aren’t they amazing? #wishfulthinking

Kate Spade Leopard Loafer

This shoe has been sitting in my cart to check out since July- JULY!  I have loved them for a while now, but I can never pull the trigger on an item when I can’t wear it right away.  Well, then everyone decided they loved them too and my size sold out.  I knew it was still early enough and Kate Spade wouldn’t be so silly to not re-stock these, so I watched them like a hawk!  And finally my size did come back into stock and I ordered them right away. The loafers are literally like wearing slippers.  They are soooo comfortable and super stylish.  I know I will get a lot of use out of them.  I did end up sizing down a half size, so be weary of that when you order them.

Loeffler Randall Sneaker

Are these not seriously THE cutest shoe that you have ever seen?  My girlfriend has these and they are adorable on her and I’ve been admiring them for a while.  She was the one who ultimately talked me into them!  I really wanted a cute sneaker for fall that was a little more dressy and these totally fit the bill.  They run small- I went up a half size, but probably could have went up a whole size.  I was just too eager to wear them.  And they are so comfortable!  Shoes have to be comfortable to me or you won’t wear them as much!

Hinge Bootie

This bootie was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I’m so mad that I wasn’t able to snag them on sale!  They sold out quickly and when they did get re-stocked, I was too late to order them.  At first, I was hesitant because the color of the tan online is deceiving.  The color looks more like a cognac, which I typically don’t prefer.  But then I saw them all over Instagram and they were the perfect light tan shade!  So I decided that the color online must be a little off.   I love this bootie so much and even decided that they are worth paying for price for!  They are exactly what I have been looking for.   Sizing online is very limited, but just keep checking back (for reference these run true to size).  I have a hunch that these will get re-stocked.

Adidas Sneaker

This was another popular item from the sale that I hesitated on.  This shoe sold out so quickly.  And then later, I realized that I loved this shoe and that I just had to have them.  I absolutely love the color.  And they are the most comfortable pair of work out shoes that I have put on my feet.  They run big, so size down a half size.

Now I just need the weather to cool down so I can wear some of these!  What are your must have shoes for fall?

    OMG! I am in love with the cheetah loafers! What size are you? I’m an 8/8.5, I’m always weary of pointed toed shoes, how do they look on your feet ?

      They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have put on my feet. If you are thinking about getting them- I would. I want to wear them all the time! I am an 8 most of the time, sometimes a 7.5. And I decided on the 7.5 which fit perfect after wearing them a few times. The 8 felt too loose.       I agree- so hard to pick a favorite. And the leopard loafers are seriously the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I want to wear them every day!
