Hi everyone! I’m back! I look a little break last week from the blog, but now I am back. This summer has been flying by and I decided last week to give myself a little break. The Nordstrom anniversary sale was a lot of work, which I loved doing, but I felt like I deserved to enjoy a weekend without having to worry about finishing up my blog posts!
And is anyone else feeling confused about what to wear this time of year? Everyone always pushes fall items because of the Nordstrom sale. And don’t get me wrong, I love that sale and stock up just like anyone else. But in Chicago it is still 90 degrees out and humid. So wearing a sweater, even if it is light, just won’t work! And I’m at that weird in between point where I don’t want to buy anymore summer items because I know I won’t be wearing them much longer. But I’m also not one to buy too much fall stuff right now. I like to be able to bring clothes home and wear them immediately. And with this weather- that just isn’t happening. So it’s that weird in between time frame!
Anyway, I was out doing a little shopping last weekend and tried on a few new items from J.Crew that I thought I would share with you. These are all great pieces that will work now and also later. Hope you enjoy my try-on haul!

This was one of my favorites from my try-on haul! And I ended up taking this home with me! I’ve had my eye on it for a while and one can never have enough button down tops. It is a linen/cotton blend which will help to keep you cool this time of year. It also comes in a really pretty light pink color that I was debating on.

A navy gingham button down is one of those classic pieces that everyone needs in their closet. And one piece that my wardrobe was missing! So this guy also came home with me too. Wear it now on it’s own and then later layered with a heavier sweater as the weather cools down. You will get a ton of wear out of it! And these pants are my fav work pants. I own them in navy and khaki and wear them every week. It’s so nice because I throw them in the regular was, so no dry cleaning is needed. This pink is so pretty for fall!

This sweatshirt is adorable! I love the lace detailing on the back. It would look so cute with a pair of jeans and sneakers on the weekends when you are out running errands.

This is a really great basic tee. I usually don’t stray far from my favorite Madewell tees, but I decided to try this one on and I love it. It does run oversized (I’m wearing an XS) so make sure to size accordingly. This didn’t end up coming home with me, but now looking back at this picture, I think I need it! It’s such a great basic.

I adore this top so much that I ended up buying it. I can never pass up a cute peplum top and thought this would be perfect to wear to work. You can never go wrong with a good white, crisp blouse for work and I love that this one adds a fun twist. And let’s talk about these jeans finally. I’ve been wearing them in all of the pictures and I fell in love with them. I like the idea lately of changing your denim up a bit rather than wearing the same dark, skinny jean. These are high, waisted and cropped and are just adorable! They have a ton of stretch to them which makes them super comfortable. This style of denim is going to be a huge trend this fall- just wait!
