Last weekend, Kurt was out of town for a bachelor party. So it was just Sloane and I! And I decided to bake Valentine’s Day cookies with her. The pictures above is some of our finished goods. They turned out pretty cute. I ended up using this recipe and they were good too. I did buy frosting though as I thought that would be easier on us. Sloane had a lot of fun baking and decorating them. Especially licking the frosting off the cookies haha.

She is at such a fun age right now. We keep saying this, but she is like a little person. Has big feelings, emotions, opinions, likes, dislikes etc. She is starting to talk more and more every day. But she understands so much. It’s amazing. I ask her to do things and not really expecting much and she does them! Everything she does is so cute right now too. Mostly everything haha.

This past week, I have been doing a lot of shopping! I am ready for Spring 🙂 Here is everything I’ve ordered recently:

I bought this lamp for my living room. I plan to put it on one side of my couch. And if it doesn’t look good there, I have a spot in our office I think it would look good in.
I re-stocked my favorite socks. I’ve had them for years, but lately I’ve noticed that a lot of them have holes in the bottom. So it was time!
I ordered this sweatshirt and this one too for myself. They are what I wear and reach for every day!
For Sloane, I ordered her these sneakers. Are they not the cutest?! And I got her these shorts.
I’ve been giving my nails a break from gel manicures lately and after seeing someone post about this nail polish, I decided to order it. And it is the prettiest color! I’ve used this brand of nail polish in the past and it makes doing a DIY manicure so much easier. The brush is really easy to use and the polish dries really quickly. Now that I know Target sells it, I’m going to order some more colors.
I replenished my favorite eye cream. For years, I was never loyal to any particular eye cream, until I found this one. It is so hydrating, which is a must for me.
I also replenished the concealer I use. This gives great coverage and a little goes a long way. I blend it out with a beautyblender.
I’m obsessed with my On sneakers, so I bought myself this pair for Spring.

Here are some things I’ve found while shopping lately:

This is the stain remover I use on Sloane’s clothes and it gets out everything! The trick is to spray the spot generously and let it sit overnight. And then wash it in the days coming. The spots will disappear- it’s nuts. Sometimes I will spray spots right before I throw them in the wash, but it doesn’t work nearly as well. The trick is to let it sit for awhile.
Last year, I ordered Sloane an Easter basket from here and they are back again this year. It is truly gorgeous! Here are some images in this post of her basket from last year.
How adorable are these gingham rain boots for toddlers?!
I’m obsessed with this console table and I’m currently trying to figure out where I could add this to my house haha! And it is a really affordable price especially for the material. Most items like this are significantly more. They also have a matching coffee table and side table.
I’m contemplating ordering this oversized piece of artwork for my living room. This is such a great price for such a large piece of art. Stuff this size is crazy expensive and this one is under $100.
My mom just ordered Sloane these shoes for Spring and Summer and I’m pretty excited about them. They look so easy to throw on and go. And easy to keep clean.
These shorts on my wish list for summer!
Hill House launched a new collection a few weeks ago and here are my top picks. I’m really loving the shorter version of the nap dress, this shirt and matching shorts, this ruffle dress and ruffle top. Honestly, everything is so cute!
This is on our home improvements list. Sloane’s closet system is just not that practical. And I recently found this that is perfect and really affordable. We never had our closets painted before we moved in, so it still needs a coat of paint. I plan to do this myself and then hire someone to help me install this. I know it will make a huge difference. It’s pretty far down the list though haha. I still need to get to my basement stairs and powder bath!

I’ve had the itch again to do some decorating in my home lately. I think it’s because the sun has been out more haha. I know that sounds weird, but the sun just puts me in a much better mood. And it makes me much more motivated. See everything in my home from my favorite retailers, Serena & Lily. They opened a store in Birmingham that I have yet to go to. But it’s on my to do list 🙂
