A Review of the Brynn Swivel Chair From World Market

Chairs | Marble Table | Pillow Covers | Insert | Rug | Lamp | White Table | Ottoman

…

One of the first ‘big’ purchases I made when we moved into our home over a year ago, was the Brynn swivel chair from World Market. In fact, I bought two of them! We needed more furniture for our living room and I had heard so much good buzz about these chairs, especially for the price. After about a month of contemplating them, knowing they would be perfect in our living room- I ordered two of the Brynn swivel chairs and never looked back. It’s now been a year of us owning them so I think it is time for a proper review.

I first heard about the Brynn swivel chairs from a blogger I follow who also has a design Facebook group. She owns them and has them styled so cute- see them here. And everyone in her Facebook group raves about them. Once I got an idea of what style and direction I wanted to go in with our living room (you might remember my design ideas from this blog post here), I knew these chairs would be perfect in our space.

While we spend a lot of our time in our living room now, eventually once we get our den furnished we won’t spend as much time in there (read about our renovations here). So I knew I wanted comfort, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money. And I most definitely wanted something that looked nice!

They arrived so quickly when I ordered them. This was over a year ago so things might have changed since then. And the day they were delivered, I knew I had made the right choice. I was just going off of reviews from that Facebook group and pictures that they posted. So it was still a gamble!

Overall, I am really happy with these chairs. They are very comfortable, easy to sit in and even easy to clean! The down filled cushions are very comfy and after a year still have a lot of fluffiness and firmness. But not in a bad way! They haven’t lost their shape like a lot of inexpensive furniture can.

I am really impressed with the fabric. It is really soft and nice to the touch. Sometimes with inexpensive items, fabrics can feel rough or scratchy. But this is really nice and comfy to the touch.

They clean up really good too. We are always really careful when we sit in them, especially if we are eating. But accidents do happen and when they do, I spray a little Folex on the stain and it comes right out. I have noticed that the end of the arms where your hands might lay, do tend to get a little discolored here and there. But again, I spray Folex on it and it’s gone. I really think you would have this with any light furniture though.

They are really deep and easy to curl up in. The one thing I’ve always noticed about them is I feel like I am being pushed forward when I am seated or curled up in them. Not in a bad way. And they still are really comfortable. But it’s just one thing I’ve noticed.

The other con is the swivel and something I might not have thought thru the best. I’ve never had swivel chairs so it’s just the type of chair. But I don’t have enough space for the swivel in my living room. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal when I purchased them though. But when guests are seated on them, they like to turn, sometimes not even realizing what they are doing. And it hits my table and then in turn scares me because I think they are going to knock over their wine, beer, water, etc. So my one piece of advice is make sure you have more than enough room especially if you are going to have two like I do. Don’t even get me started on the kids sitting on them haha. They love to play on them!

The other thing that sort of drives me crazy about a swivel chair (again this is for any swivel chair) is that they never look perfect. One chair is always a little off. The table in between them is always off from the chairs bumping it. I’ve gotten used to it and don’t rearrange them as much anymore. But at times, it drives me nuts!

The Brynn swivel chair has gained so much popularity that they launched it in navy (which would be so pretty!). And there is also a matching couch now (comes in both ivory and navy).

Review of the Brynn Swivel Chair from World Market

Pros

  • Great price for what you get
  • Shipping is fast
  • Fabric is really nice to the touch and soft
  • Comfortable
  • Easy to clean
  • Deep so you can curl up in it

Cons

  • Can feel like you are being pushed forward when seated on it
  • Guests are always bumping into my table because of the swivel (could just be me!)
  • Light color can be challenging and you have to be more cautious (although they do come in navy now!)

I have a love/hate with family photos. It always s I have a love/hate with family photos. It always sounds like a great idea when you book them, but they always end up being way more work than you think. Work always ends up being crazy that day, something always goes wrong with someone’s outfit (this year it was Sloane’s adorable pink shoes that I swear I just bought her. They were too tight 🤨- so she threw on her rain boots). The weather is never quite what you expected when you planned everyone’s outfits. I swear I threw my dress on and had 2 minutes to spare before we were out the door. The stress and planning that entails for 15 minutes of photos is crazy lol. And then you get them back and they perfectly capture your family 💙 I’m grateful we do these every year even if the process is a little crazy #fallfamilyphotos @tessamerrillphotography
