Today I want to share my back to school favorites that I am stocking up on as we head into the new school year! First off, summer flew by. It was a really fun and busy one. But I am also looking forward to starting the school year and having a little bit more routine in our days. Although I fantasize about that, the school year is sometimes just as busy as summers!
My daughter is starting kindergarten this fall which is truly just crazy!!! Wasn’t she just a little baby?! I am really excited for her though and I’m excited to see her grow, make new friends and gain some independence this year. We actually don’t start until after Labor Day which I know sounds really late, but I like it. We can enjoy those last few days of summer when it is hot out. So we still have a few more weeks to soak up the sun and get ready. I am slowly starting to think about what gear and clothing she will need this year so I want to share my back to school favorites today. Most of this we have or I have already bought and we are using for camp (she couldn’t wait until September!).
Back to School Favorites
Dress– Everyone needs a cute outfit for the first day of school! We have a dress from last year that she actually couldn’t wear because she was sick. It still fits this year so she is going to wear that. But if she didn’t have anything, I would be ordering this adorable dress! My daughter is still on the dress kick and it’s all I can get her to wear.
Sweater– At the beginning of school, it can be chilly in the mornings so I like to send her to school with a cardigan. These are our favorite ones! They have fun prints and colors so my daughter loves that. Plus it is 100% cotton so it’s breathable and not too hot for this time of year. Last year, I bought her this exact cardigan but it has apples on it and is so cute. The hearts are a lot more versatile. Either way, a great layer!
Book– My daughter is starting Kindergarten this year so I got her this book to read to her before the school year starts.
Banner– Gotta have a cute banner for those first (and last) day of school pictures. This one is also customizable with their name.
Socks– These have been my go to socks for many years! The little ruffle is just enough and they look so cute with dresses and shorts. I just re-stocked my daughters!
Fruit Forks– I add one of these princess forks to my daughters lunch every day. She uses it to eat her fruit. She loves princesses so she has been very excited for these!
Lunchbox-I switched up her lunchbox this year because I felt like her old one was just too little for her. We have been loving this one. It has a lot more room, it’s easy to open and close for my five year old. And it’s really easy to wash too. It’s also really lightweight which I like. They are still so little and I feel bad putting too much stuff in their backpack so I like that it isn’t too heavy for her.
Water Bottle– My daughter likes the princess design and I like it can go in the dishwasher!
Ice Packs– The other day my daughter came home from camp and was so excited to tell me that ice packs come in different animals haha. I’ve been using the same square ones for years now so I’m going to surprise her with these unicorn ones.
Sneakers– I always buy her Adidas sneakers because they are cute and also supportive. This year she picked this adorable pink pair with daisies. I even bought one size up so I can have them when her feet grow!
Hello Kitty Backpack– My daughter loves Hello Kitty so she was really excited to get this backpack that she has already been using for camp. It is a little big and if I went back, I should have measured beforehand. But she likes it and it fits all of the stuff lol.
Hello Kitty Lunchbox– I also got her the matching lunchbox. And I will note that the hard lunchbox above fits nicely into this soft lunchbox with an ice pack and even a little room to spare! I was sick of stuffing her lunch into the soft lunchbox every morning so I measured before I ordered and it fits perfectly.
Underwear (not shown)- This time of year is always a good time to stock up on basics like new underwear! I thought these were cute and they are 100% organic cotton. My daughter loves the designs!
Hope you have a great schoolyear!
