I started using Charlotte Tilbury makeup about a year and a half ago. The foundation that I was using for years did a rebrand and I couldn’t find my color anywhere! I was in the need of makeup and found myself at Nordstrom one day and in the chair of a makeup artist at the Charlotte Tilbury counter. And ever since that day, I’ve been hooked! I’ve slowly, but surely started to convert almost all of my makeup to her line because it’s all just that good!
I’m not usually one to pick a line and use every product from that particular line. But for some reason, I want it all by Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve used products for years and I never thought I could love anything more, so I continue to buy them from Nars, Dior, Bobbie Brown, etc. And I decide to switch and try something from her line and I end up loving it even more. What I like the best about her makeup is that its all so natural looking. You feel like yourself, but an elevated version. And all of the colors work so well from the colors of her foundation to her lip colors and more. I will also add that her makeup works on all generations. I’ve gotten my mom to convert to a lot her items too and she loves them just as much as I do!
I still use products from other lines. But today I wanted to talk about the Charlotte Tilbury makeup that I do use and also items that I plan on trying or switching to next!
Items I use from Charlotte Tilbury
Hollywood Flawless Filter (I’m shade 2)- This is one of my favorite products in her line! I personally use this as a makeup primer so I it is the first item I put on my skin before I do my foundation. I’ve tried many primers before and they all make me breakout. This is the only one that doesn’t do that. This product can also be used a couple of other ways. You can use it as a highlight on your cheekbones after you put all of your makeup. It gives you the pretties glow! Or if you are looking for a something light to wear on your no makeup days- this is for you! It evens out your skin and makes you look a little more put together than you might be haha. This product is perfect to wear on those days that you don’t feel like putting a whole face of makeup on, but you still want a little something to even you out. And it really helps combat shine for me. I don’t feel greasy by the end of the day and I know its because of this product.
Magic Foundation (I’m shade 3.5)- I’ve used this product the longest and have re-bought this item many, many times. It is a very natural looking, lightweight foundation. What I love most about it, are the shades it comes in. If you are fair skinned like me you know how difficult it can be to match your foundation closely because a lot of times you end up looking to orange. And it doesn’t blend well with your skin. Charlotte Tilbury has THE best colors and a wide range of them at that. I will say that I have since switched to her new Airbrush Flawless foundation (I’m shade 3), but only because I was looking for a little bit more coverage. I felt like you could still see some of the redness in my face or acne scars after I put my foundation on and her new foundation is a little heavier coverage. It’s all a personal preference though! I still use both to be honest. It just depends on what I want my makeup to look like that day.
Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder (I’m shade 1 Fair)- I’ve only been using this product for a few months, but I’m hooked. I use this after my foundation and it sets everything in place. And if your skin wasn’t already flawless looking after using the primer and foundation- this makes it look that much better! A little goes a long way too. I only use a couple sweeps of it on my face and I’ve barely made a dent in mine.
Bronze & Glow Contour Duo (I’m shade Fair-Medium)- I about gasped when I saw the price of this product, so you are warned! But I really think its a great product. The color of the bronzer is absolutely perfect- not too orange. And it’s just enough hint without being overly dark for my fair skinned girls out there. It can be hard to find a bronzer that works, but this is seriously the perfect color. I also love the highlight in this duo. I swipe it across my cheekbones and on my nose for a little bit of shimmer and dimension.
Cheek to Chic Blush (in shade Sex on Fire)- OMG this is one of my absolute favorite blushes that I have ever tried. And I’ve tried a ton over the years. I have a secret addition to blushes because I’m always on the hunt for the perfect formula. Why is that come 3pm you look like a ghost and all of your blush has worn off? If you have this same problem then you have to try this blush! It lasts alllll day on me. I come home after work and still have my blush in place- it’s amazing! And I’ve never been able to find anything that lasts that long. Right now I’m using shade Sex on Fire which is a mauve/pink color combo. But I can’t wait to try Love is the Drug or Ecstasy this spring/summer.
Lipstick & Liner (Lipstick in shade Liv It Up & Liner in shade Pink Venus)- This is one my favorite lip combos and I always go back to it. The lipstick is so creamy and moisturizing that it feels like you are wearing just chapstick on your lips. I think that might be my favorite part about the lipstick so that its not drying and that it just feels like an elevated version of your normal lips!
^^ My mom and I did makeover at Charlotte Tilbury when she was here in December. We are wearing almost all of the same colors, minus our foundation because she’s a little darker than me. Proof that her makeup works on all ages!
