Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and I hope you are lucky enough to have the day off of work. This weekend I spent back in Michigan with family and friends. Saturday night we saw our friends from Germany who are in town and boy was it good to see them! I love when we can all be together and catch up. On Sunday we met up with another friend, her husband and their baby. It’s amazing to see kids grow and how much they change in just a short period of time. Their baby is now at that really fun stage where she giggles, smiles and is starting to crawl/walk. She is just the cutest!
I have rounded up my favorite red, white and blue items to give you a little Memorial Day outfit inspiration. On holidays, I like to be festive, but I like to keep it more subtle. I don’t necessarily like to wear items that scream ‘American Flag.’ These are items you will wear again, but you also look cute for holiday celebrations.
Memorial Day Must Haves
- J.Crew Poplin Blouse with Bow– I have been obsessed with this blouse! Originally I saw it on J.Crew’s website and meant to buy it. But by the time I went back to purchase it- it was sold out! I hate when that happens. After googling the top, I was so excited to find it on Net-a-Porter’s website (I had no idea they sold J.Crew!).
- Silk Tie Shoulder Peplum Top– Lately I have been loving a pop of red. Peplum tops always look so cute on and I love the added feminine detail of the bow ties on the shoulder.
- Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Waist Crop Skinny Jeans– These are my favorite jeans and my go to item in my closet. I love white jeans and if you don’t own a pair- you should! It’s now officially white jean season 🙂
- J.Crew Off the Shoulder Stripe Top– Off the shoulder tops are a huge trend this season- one trend that I love! The stripe detail make it perfect for Memorial Day. This top would be so cute paired with white jeans and a red lip!
- Madewell High Rise Skinny Jeans– I just ordered these and I am soooo excited to get them in the mail. They have been on backorder and were just recently re-stocked. I have never tried Madewell’s jeans, but I love their stuff. And you can’t beat the price point!
- Nars Semi Matte Lipstick– You can’t go wrong with a red lip. It instantly makes your outfit more classy. Just remember to always use a liner with red lipstick because it can get messy if you don’t use one. My favorite is Nars Lipstick Pencil.
- Converse Jack Purcell Sneaker– I have these and wear them every chance I get. They are comfy, classic and super cute!
