Sunday we celebrated my first Mother’s Day and it was the most perfect day. Kurt cooked a big brunch and we enjoyed the nice weather with family. I feel so lucky to be able to celebrate. And after so many hard years, I would do it over again and then some to be at the point we are now. I always knew it will all work out and it would be worth it some day. But it’s even better than I thought it could be. Kurt got Sloane this outfit for her to wear- and she was adorable!
And then little Miss Sloane got sick! She was up almost all night crying. She does this really annoying cry where she lets it out and then is quiet for 10 minutes or so. So just when you think she might have fallen back asleep- she’s crying again! Little miss is getting some teeth and it does not mix well with her. I ended up getting up in the middle of the night with her and she was on fire! I even called the pediatrician just to make sure I was doing everything right. She wanted to cuddle all day and I was not mad about it! It took a few days, but she’s finally feeling better now.
We also had a really fun event on Saturday for the Derby! I wore this dress– which is now on sale!! I really love it and it was so comfy to wear. Would be so cute for a shower or even date night with wedges. I will be wearing this one again for sure!
This weekend Kurt has a bachelor party to attend so it’s just doing to be Sloane and I! I know we will do fine, but sometimes Kurt is just better at things so this should be interesting. Shout out to the single moms! No idea how you do it ALL the time.
Here are a few things on my radar this week:
The last few years I have embraced my pale skin, but now I just can’t take it anymore. I have been using this bronzer a few times a week- depending on if I have anything going on that weekend haha. And it is so nice! It gives you a nice glow, but isn’t orange and I haven’t noticed any getting on my clothes either. I will shower in the morning, shave and then apply it when I get out of the shower (no lotion on legs either) and let it soak in all day. You have to use this mitt too- it helps to make it go on really smooth. And I just noticed that Sam’s Club actually carries this! I know a lot of people go to Costco, but I have a Sam’s Club membership because they sell Sloane’s diapers and formula.
I ordered these sneakers for myself (and they surprisingly came very fast) and I love them. It’s kind of hard to tell what color they are in the picture on the website, but they are a really pretty light blue/green color. I also own this pair which are a bit more casual and better for walks. They aren’t very tight on your feet so I wouldn’t workout in them. But they are great for everyday and easy to throw on. This new pair is much better for working out in.
Last week I mentioned something on Instagram stories that I was going to buy Sloane some sunscreen and I asked what everyone’s favorite brands were. Never have I ever gotten so many DM’s! People said they liked Thinkbaby, Beautycounter, Baby Bum, Blue Liard, Pippa. I ended up ordering Thinkbaby to try because that was probably the most common one people loved. I am also really curious to try the Beautycounter one. This is my favorite sunscreen that I use on my face daily. It’s so important for your skin! I even wrote a whole review on it here.
I am obsessed with this top for under $100. I’ve been holding off, but I think I am going to buy it for myself. I really need tops, especially for summer. And this would be cute casual or dressed up. Last summer, I was pregnant so I am in need of a few new things this year! I also really love shopping on this site. They have really cute stuff. Some if it is pretty expensive though so you have been warned!
How do we feel about the fisherman sandal trend?! I am in love with them! Here are some that I found that are cute- this, this, this, or this.
Speaking of sandals, I love my Hermes sandals- full review here. But they are pricey. Here, here and here are some good dupes. I wear these sandals alllll the time once it warms up. They look chic and never go out of style.
And last but not least, how adorable are these pj’s for Sloane?! I love this brand because they stretch for days and seem to fit for a long time so you get your money’s worth. And its nice because they have free shipping over $25, so you can buy one pair and not have to pay for shipping.
