2024 Back to School Shopping- What I've Bought

I’m way ahead of myself, but I’ve gotten all of my back to school shopping done for Sloane already! I wanted to share some things I bought and a couple more things that are in my cart that I plan to purchase. I know it is early to have it all done, but I’m really excited this year!

She’s been in daycare since she was nine months old. So we really haven’t had a true back to school yet. This Fall, she is starting a new school which is exciting…and kind of scary. It follows a true school schedule with specific drop off and pick up times, winter breaks and summers out of school. I know it will be a big change for us. But in the end, I know it is going to be worth it and I can’t wait to see how much she learns and grows this year.

So I’ve been a little excited to get all the things for her this school year! Here is my back to school shopping list and what I’ve bought.

Back to School Shopping

Dress– I had to buy Sloane a cute outfit for the first day of school. I think this adorable dress is pretty perfect! She’s going to be so cute in it.

Water Bottle– One of the items she had to have this year was a leak proof water bottle so I bought her this one. I have it and love it so much. She drinks from mine all the time and it’s easy for her to use. Plus it doesn’t leak. If she ends up not liking it, I know I will use it!

Banner– I had to get a cute banner for her to hold on the first day of school for pictures! I really like this one because it can be used every year- no specific year or grade so you aren’t rebuying one. And the back of it says last day of school. I customized it to add Sloane’s name. And I swapped the red ribbon for pink (you can choose your colors).

Lunchbox Notes– These are so cute! She can’t read yet, so I might hold off on ordering them. But they were too cute not to share.

Lunchbox and Backpack– I bought her this lunchbox and backpack to use for the year. It hasn’t come yet, but I can’t wait to see it in person- they look adorable! I went with the color Sky for both. Hoping they are the same color because online they look like they are different, but hopefully it’s just their website. I picked these because they are wipeable so really easy to keep clean. They have monogramming which looks so cute on these. But I opted out of it for safety reasons. I don’t like anyone knowing her name or even initials.

Snack Containers– I still need to order these, but I have to pack her a couple of snacks for school everyday. So I thought these containers would come in handy for fruits and veggies for snacks.

Unicorn Ice Packs– I already have ice packs, but if you need some these are too cute!

Sneakers– These are my favorite brand of sneakers for Sloane. It’s also a big plus that she can easily put them on herself now. I also grabbed this pair because she needs a second pair of sneakers to keep at school for gym class.

Utensils– Thought these were cute so she doesn’t lose all of our forks haha. They come in other colors and patterns, but I know she will love the dogs!

Re-usage Storage Bag– I love these bags! They are great for snacks on the go and I know they will be perfect for her lunches this year. They are really easy to clean- I throw them in the dishwasher and of course I really like that they are re-usable. I hate the feeling of literally throwing money away. They are a bit of investment upfront but so worth it in the end.

Lunchbox– We’ve had this lunchbox and Sloane loves eating from it. This is what I plan to pack her lunch in every day. I will then add an icepack and add it to this lunchbox and any other snacks she needs for the day.

More Item’s I Plan to Order

I bought these customizable name stickers to put on all of our stuff. They were cheap and delivered really quickly too.
I’m going to buy this banner to decorate for the first day of school. I will either add it to my chandelier or my mantle. Just a little something to make the day feel special! And it’s something I can use again- like next year or even for the last day of school.
To make the first day of school a little less scary, I am going to buy Sloane and I these bracelets. I think it’s a cute idea! They have them for every grade too.
These are a cute idea to make sandwiches with! I think a heart shaped sandwich is way more fun so maybe they will actually eat it haha.
If you would rather write your own lunch box note, I thought these heart shaped sticky notes were cute to use. And then you can use them for other stuff too.
