Two Ways to Wear the Mom Jeans Trend

Is anyone else just now jumping on the mom jeans trend? I kind of hated them at first, but now I can’t get enough. While they are much different than our typical skinny jean we are used to wearing, I am really liking the change up in my wardrobe.

I’m not one to jump on trends right when they first come out. I like to wait and see how other people wear and style them first. And I like for them to be a bit more mainstream before I start dipping my toes into the trend. This is exactly what happened with mom jeans. Last year, I thought, ok these are cute. But I didn’t jump at buying myself a pair. Speed forward a year and I now want to replace every pair of jean I own!

Mom jeans do fit a bit differently than our skinny jeans and that’s mostly because they have zero stretch to them. Which can be a little hard to get used to when you first try them on. I first bought this pair and almost returned them for a bigger size. They are a real high waist jean with zero stretch so it takes a couple of hours of wearing them before they feel more comfortable and more like what I am used to wearing. But now this is my go to pair of jeans!

Everyone always raves about this pair of Levi’s and I can see why. They hit at the perfect length and after you wear them around for a bit, they are actually very comfortable. It takes a minute for them to stretch out a bit but after that you are golden. And they are under $100! That is super important to me when trying out a trend for the first time- I don’t want to spend a ton of money in case I really don’t end up liking it.

Once I got use to my pair of Levi’s and loved them, I then decided I needed a more casual pair of mom jeans and bought these because they looked super cute on a blogger I follow (follow her here). And they were on sale! And I like the more dress down feel you get with this pair. This pair hardly has any give to them so I would recommend sizing up at least one size.
