Here’s a little red, white and blue outfit inspiration because this time of year is perfect for this color combination! It’s so fun to be festive! Can you believe the fourth of July is right around the corner?!?! This year has gone by so fast and I am in shock that it’s already here!
Usually ever year for the 4th, we head to Lake Lansing where Kurt’s aunt and uncle live on a lake. The whole family gets together every year at this time. It’s a little mini family reunion. They have a beautiful house and we relax, BBQ and play around in the water. And every year we take a huge family photo. It’s so fun to look back over the years and see how we have all changed and talk about memories.
This year, we all decided to change it up a bit and we are renting a cottage in Charlevoix, MI. When we first started dating, Kurt and I attended a wedding of one of his cousins up in Charlevoix and I haven’t been back since. From what I remember, it is such a cute city! There are cute restaurants and little shops and I can’t wait to explore. I love getting out of the city this time of year too and heading back to Michigan. It’s nice to be near family and just relax and decompose a little!
I am always on the hunt for shorts that fit me well and I love this new pair I grabbed from J.Crew. I actually went up a size and then had to return them for a smaller size- so I would say they are true to size. The bow detail on the side is so cute too!
And I LOVE these flip flops. Ok, I know they are a little pricey but how cute are they? I actually ordered them over a year ago and they were on backorder forever. I finally got them the mail and my girlfriend made me feel sooo guilty for spending that much, so I returned them. Last summer, I completely regretted returning them! They were on backorder again and there was no chance I would be able to get them in time to enjoy them for the summer. Every time I put an outfit together, I always thought how cute these sandals would look with that outfit. So this summer, I wasn’t taking any chances. I ordered them back in February and have been waiting until I can wear them. Don’t you love them?!?! I also really love this new light pink color!
