We just got back from Disney World and had the absolute best time! We had fun, relaxed, shopped, ate, walked a ton and bought lots of souvenirs. My daughter is 5 and I truly think that is the perfect age. It was magical for her yet she was able to stay up past her bedtime for the fireworks and sit thru dinners. A win for everyone!
Some of my favorite memories were my daughter getting her hair and makeup done (she loved this so much- worth the money!). One morning we had breakfast reservations at the castle which was a really cool experience. We were able to get into the park super early and saw at least 15 different characters walking around which we hadn’t seen before. It was my favorite experience that I will never forget. We even got to see Stitch ride the carousal which my daughter absolutely loved! We also had a fun evening with dinner one night at the Contemporary hotel and after we watched the fireworks from the 15th floor. Amazing! And we also relaxed one day- went to the pool and shopped a little bit. Overall, we made the best memories and I have zero regrets about our trip.
We stayed at the Grand Floridian and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. I would stay here again on my next trip. It was beautifully decorated, the rooms were spacious and also beautiful. They had a ton of activities for the kids, the pools were so nice and so fun. The grounds were immaculate and so well taken care of. I loved it here and can’t wait to stay here again on our next trip!
What to Wear to Disney World
Ok, so what to wear to Disney World? We went in at the end of September so it was still very hot and humid. I really just wanted to be comfy and stay as cool as possible. And this might be controversial, but I also didn’t wear anything themed. I didn’t want to buy a bunch of clothes that I would never wear again. That is just where I am at right now with my shopping and purchasing! Here is everything I wore in Disney World.
Travel Day

Sweater | T-shirt Jeans | Flats
This is what I wore on the plane. It was chilly leaving MI so I wore a sweater. I also thought I might want this at night or at restaurants while we were at Disney. I did not need it at all lol.

Top | Pants | Sandals | Clutch | Sunglasses
Our first night for dinner we headed to 1900 Park Fare in our hotel. It ended up being a character dinner which I was not expecting. It was such a great way to kick off the trip and the food was really good too.
Day 2- Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios

Dress | Sneakers | Sunglasses
Our first full day we went to the Magic Kingdom in the morning. We saw the castle, went on a few rides, watched a show, shopped a little and then had lunch at Casey’s Corner. It is a quick service meal that was actually really good. That afternoon we headed to Hollywood Studios. Our favorite was Toy Story Land (my daughter could not stop talking about the Slinky dog ride) and the Frozen show. We had dinner that night at The Hollywood Brown Derby and I thought it was just ok. Next time I would skip it.
Day 3- Animal Kingdom & EPCOT

Our second full day we headed to the Animal Kingdom and went straight to the safari. This was such a cool experience and we got to see so many of the animals out and about because it was a little cooler and overcast that morning. We all loved the Zootopia show and my daughter had a lot of fun getting her face painted. We didn’t spend enough time here which is a regret of mine because we wanted to get to EPCOT. EPCOT ended up being a big fail in my opinion. It took forever to get there and it was an insane amount of walking. Everything was really spread out, there was zero food my daughter wanted to eat and there isn’t a lot to see there. We rode a few rides and then decided to go head back to the hotel to rest for a few hours.

Tank Top | Shorts | Espadrilles
After we rested we headed back to EPCOT for dinner. I took this picture and then immediately decided to change back into my sneakers because it was so much walking. I didn’t want to regret it! That night we had dinner at Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria and it was so good. So fresh, the staff were so nice and my daughter had something she was familiar with. The one downside is that is is at the furthest point at EPCOT. It took us about an hour and 15 minutes from our hotel at the Grand Floridian to dinner that night. It was a lot of travel time. Next time, I think I would skip EPCOT- just too much walking and not enough to see.
Day 4- Rest Day

T-shirt | Shorts | Sneakers | Bag
We were all so thankful we built in a rest day with no parks this day. We all slept in and had a lazy morning. And then headed over to the Polynesian resort for a character breakfast. This was really cute and the food was really good too! After my mom and I headed to Disney Spring for a little shopping. They had a mix of retail stores you would normally shop at and also Disney stores. The Disney stores had merchandise I hadn’t seen at the parks either so it was worth a trip.

My top and bottoms | Hat | My daughter’s suit
After we met my husband and daughter at the pool! The pools at the Grand Floridian were amazing and defiantly set up for kids with lots of fun activities.

Top | Pants, similar here | Sandals | Clutch
That night we headed to the Contemporary hotel to eat at California Grill for dinner. It was absolutely amazing food and it was breathtaking to see Disney from the 15th floor! We had a late dinner so we stayed for the fireworks on the rooftop which were so pretty.
Day 5- Magic Kingdom

Top | Shorts | Sneakers | Sunglasses
And for our last day we spent the full day at Magic Kingdom. We got there right when they opened because we had an early breakfast reservation at the castle. This breakfast was another character breakfast which were all the princesses. My daughter loved this and so did we. It was also very cool to go inside the castle!
One of the best parts about this reservation was it gave us access to get in early behind the castle and all the rides. We got there at the perfect time too because all of the characters were coming out of the castle for the day and we saw so many! This was a highlight of the trip for me. Everywhere we looked there was another character! We rode a ton of rides and then headed to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for my daughter to get her hair done. She loved this so much and had a huge smile on her face the entire time! A highlight for everyone.
We had a late lunch and rode some more rides and then it started to pour. So we grabbed some popcorn on the way out and headed back to the hotel.
Travel Day

Sweatshirt | T-shirt | Leggings | Sneakers | Hat
And heading home. We had a very early wake-up call so I just wanted to be comfy for the plane ride home.
We had the best vacation and honestly can’t wait to go back!
