Summer to Fall Transitional Outfit

As the weather starts to make a turn, I want to share a great summer to fall transitional outfit. I wore this out to dinner over the weekend with friends and its the perfect outfit to wear now….and later.

This time of year can be a bit tricky to dress. Its still humid and hot in most places, but all of the retailers are pushing fall pieces. And if you are anything like me you want to wear some of those fall items before the weather actually starts to cool down.

I picked up this short sleeve cashmere sweater at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale a couple of weeks ago. And I’ve been wearing it non stop! It’s truly the perfect piece to have in your closet to wear now and later when the temps start to cool off. The short sleeve still says summer, but the cashmere material and deep navy color scream fall. The perfect combo!

Everyone was raving about this sweater during the Nordstrom sale and my size and the color I liked was still available. So I decided to order it and see what the hype was all about. And I’m equally obsessed! It’s so soft and I’ve worn it at least once a week since I bought it. I wear it to work, I’ve worn it to a work event with a skirt and I wore it on date night with jeans. It’s incredibly versatile which is one of the reasons I knew the price was worth it to me. Unfortunately its no longer on sale, but I’m linking some more budget friendly styles below.

Other ways to start transitioning your outfits into fall is to choose your accessories more wisely. It I would have paired this outfit with a pair of espadrilles and bright colored earrings- this outfit would have screamed summer. So, I was more mindful to wear a classy pair of heels that feel more fall. And to also choose a pair of earrings in deeper colors. It’s hard to see in these pictures, but my earrings are tortoise shell which is a great pattern/color combo for fall.
