Recent Outfits

I have been seeing old pictures pop up on my phone lately and it has been almost nine years since I started this blog. And when I started out, I really was only sharing outfits. It was the creative outlet I needed at the time and still do. I started to get a lot of traction on more home decor and I kind of liked not having to be in the pictures lol. So I sort of leaned into more home items. And got away from sharing my outfits. But I want to get back to sharing them more even if it is just a quick snap.

I’ve been thinking about this space more and more and what I want to do with it. And I think I finally landed on something. I am just going to share what I want to share. If that means it’s home items, clothes for myself or even clothes for my daughter- I’m going to share it. Everyone always says niche down and find what you are good at. But I really don’t care about growth. This is just a little side hobby and if it makes me happy, then I am going to do it.

And that means less Instagram. The more time I spend on that app lately, the less I like it. I am not seeing posts from creators I enjoy following and it just zaps my time as I get too wrapped up in it. I have been subscribing to more and more Substacks and have really enjoyed reading those- like the good old blog days!

My plan is to still share on Instagram but more on stories. I will likely post to my feed a few pictures here and there and maybe the occasional reel but I loathe making reels. I’ve never gotten good at it and I just don’t like making them. Call me old fashion, but I still prefer photos over videos. Maybe I will play around with it more and find my style with them.

So here we go- I am a mom who works from home. I want to look polished and nice without it being too fussy. I want to dress my age but still be a little trendy here and there. But most importantly, I want to look good in the clothes I wear. And I want to invest in good, quality clothing that works for my lifestyle and style. I’ve been reading labels a lot more lately before I buy anything and if it’s not 100% cotton, silk, etc., I more than likely am passing on the item.

I still plan to share home related items. But my house shockingly feels pretty done. So I will still share when we have a big project or I find something I love. My living room is almost done which has been bringing all of us so much joy. We hardly ever used to spend anytime in that room- we were always in our back play room. But since we have gotten new furniture, we hang out there all evening with the fire going. Over the weekend my new coffee table arrived (you can see it here) and my antique chairs I am having re-upholstered should be done soon. I’m hoping this weekend!

So I wanted to share some recently outfits I’ve worn lately. Dressing in the spring time makes me so happy. I used to be a fall girlie but I’ve changed my tune as I have gotten older. Spring is my season! The colors of spring, white jeans, cotton sweaters, layers are all how I love to dress.

Recent Outfits

Outfit linked here– I’m obsessed with this jacket and plan to wear it all spring! It’s such a fresh update to the denim jacket I lived in for years.

Outfit linked here– My newest jean obsession! They are so soft and fit so good. I sized down one.

Outfit linked here– this cardigan is truly a forever piece in my wardrobe. It is incredibly soft and while yes, it’s expensive. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth with how much I wear it. I am also trying to be more intentional with jewelry and accessories. How cute is this necklace?

Outfit linked here– Another Alice Walk sweater that I wear over and over. Love this color because it works from spring all the way into fall. I also really love it in white and navy.

Outfit linked here– I love this more polished sweatshirt. The neck is so cute on it! These are really hard to get so when you see one- order fast.

Outfit linked here– My favorite sweater especially this time of year because it is a good weight- not to hot but still gives you the warmth you need on a chilly morning. And I have been living in these jeans– they are so cozy and relaxed.

Outfit linked here– I have been craving color and decided to wear my red and pink sneakers for a casual outfit for running errands. I thought it was a fun color combo!

Meet Amanda

Hi- my name is Amanda Faber. My husband and I moved in 2021 into our first home where we are slowly decorating and renovating our 1927 colonial home. My style is a mix between coastal, traditional, modern and grandmillenial. You can expect to find all the best blue and white finds, mixed in with lots of rattan accents. I am also a new mama to my daughter Sloane who was born in 2021! I love to share home décor finds, preppy fashion and all the peonies & hydrangeas from my garden. Welcome to Cashmere & Jeans!

I have a love/hate with family photos. It always s I have a love/hate with family photos. It always sounds like a great idea when you book them, but they always end up being way more work than you think. Work always ends up being crazy that day, something always goes wrong with someone’s outfit (this year it was Sloane’s adorable pink shoes that I swear I just bought her. They were too tight 🤨- so she threw on her rain boots). The weather is never quite what you expected when you planned everyone’s outfits. I swear I threw my dress on and had 2 minutes to spare before we were out the door. The stress and planning that entails for 15 minutes of photos is crazy lol. And then you get them back and they perfectly capture your family 💙 I’m grateful we do these every year even if the process is a little crazy #fallfamilyphotos @tessamerrillphotography
