I’m so excited to be sharing our master bedroom reveal today!!!! This is probably the room that feels the most done to us. Which is kind of crazy because usually people concentrate on their living space first. And then eventually get to the master bedroom. But we did it the opposite! I don’t know if our living area space will ever truly feel done to me, but its defiantly coming along.
One of the reasons why we loved this apartment so much is we finally had room for a king size bed! And let me tell you it has been life changing. I don’t know how we have done without it for so long now. When we were upgrading our bed, I knew I wanted a canopy style bed frame. And I am so happy with how this one turned out. It’s the center point of the room and it looks gorgeous.
And would you even believe it if I told you, we registered for this king size bedding for our wedding shower…..over five years ago! And we are now finally just using it. I always knew we would upgrade to a king one day, but I didn’t think it would take this long. We were always nervous because bedrooms in Chicago apartments can be teeny, tiny. And we didn’t want to make our search that more difficult by adding in there that we had to have a king size bedroom. Our bedding has been in storage in my parents basement since our wedding and I kind of forgot what it even looked like because it had been so long haha. But it really came together!
I also want to touch on what kind of mattress we decided to go with because that can be a daunting task. We were at a party one night and a friend mentioned how amazing and comfy the Casper mattress was. They have a store literally blocks from our old apartment, so we decided to go look the next day. And it was so easy! They didn’t have a ton of gimmicks and they had an easy selection of three mattress types which made the decision a lot easier.
We were impressed with the quality and the price. And decided to keep things simple and we made the purchase! We decided on a king size split, which is essentially two twin size beds pushed together. But if you know Kurt and I, you know that we have never been good sleepers together. Kurt tosses and turns all night long and I am a very light sleeper. So not a good combo. But we are now able to finally get a good nights sleep together and I don’t feel Kurt tossing and turning anymore!
I love how this space turned out and we spend so much time in it all cuddling into bed and watching TV, pets included! How do you like our master bedroom reveal?!
