Things have been a little hectic around our household! Sloane is now more mobile then ever and in to everything! She’s been crawling for a while, but its like she just realized all this new stuff in her home haha. Toys, what are those for?! She has all of moms stuff to play with.
We have been putting off baby proofing until now. This last weekend, we ordered a lot of stuff off Amazon and it has made things so much easier! We went with this baby gate for the top of our stairs, this for the toilets and these for the cabinets and they work on our doors to our basement and pantry. She has also taught herself how to slide open the door in her play room so there’s that. She books it for the stairs. And luckily one of our friends gave us one of their baby gates they were no longer using and it works perfectly. We feel so much safer in the home now! I don’t know why we put it off for so long.
Sloane has always loved to read, but we have just entered the stage where we read a book over, and over and over again. The other day, I had to hide her favorite books or else I think we would have sat their all day reading. It’s really cute! She loves to curl up in your lap and actually lets you finish the whole book. This one and this one our her current favorites.

On the home front, in case you don’t follow along on Instagram. I bought a Drexel buffet for my dining room off Facebook Marketplace. It is completely out of my element because it is a dark wood. You know my favorite color to decorate with is white. But our dining room was too white! The table is white, the walls are white, the buffet we had in there was white. So this was completely out of the realm for me. One night, I was randomly looking on Marketplace and came across one that was the perfect fit and price and I couldn’t pass it up.
I actually plan on leaving it the dark color. I’ve been loving people’s homes lately that mix old and new and all kinds of woods. I had to wash it up last week and get it looking a little nicer. So we finally moved it into the dining room on Sunday and it looks so good! I need to still add a few more décor elements to the space to tie it all in a little better. But it looks amazing! I’m so happy with it.
The one big thing I want to change are my lampshades. I found these and I think they will perfectly tie in my wicker chairs. And really bring everything together. I also still need to have my artwork hung and my mirror. And I plan to have my plates hung on the wall too. I will be sure to share the final space, but I’m really excited for how it is taking shape!
The white buffet we had originally in the dining room, we ended up moving to Sloane’s play room under the TV and it looks so good in there. This piece is from Target, but we have had it for years and it’s actually a really nice piece and pretty affordable.
Here are some things I’ve been shopping for lately:
- I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of white sneakers and I keep going back to these. I love the idea that you can throw them in the washing machine to keep them clean.
- I adore this little bag so much! And it is a great price. Personally, I want the black one but there are so many great colors.
- How adorable is this new line of furniture at Potter Barn kids?
- I’ve already started some of my Christmas shopping which is so unlike me haha. I usually wait until right before the holiday to cram it all in. I ordered Sloane this play kitchen which I think she is going to love.
- I love this fleece so much and I keep contemplating if I should order it for myself. It would look so cute with black leggings.
- Last weekend, I was at the mall and I could not resist these adorable Ugg boots for Sloane. She looks so cute in them too! They do run really big though. She has tiny feet and is a size 3 in her shoes and I was about to buy her the 4/5 size so she would have room to grow into them. Until I took them out of the box and looked at how large they would be. I think they would have been way too big on her. So I went with the 2/3 size and she has plenty of room to grow into them this winter.
- I haven’t ordered Sloane a Christmas dress yet- I’m probably already late haha, but I’ve had my eye on this one.
- But I did order her these Christmas pj’s from my favorite brand! They seriously stretch for days. I think she might still fit into her ones from last year from this same brand, but a much smaller size.
- I’ve been obsessed with black platform shoes and I found these at an affordable price or these are little bit of a splurge! I just love them!
- I’m also obsessed with this fleece. Looks so cozy!
- I don’t have a pair of flat black boots and I found these that I really like. They look like they can be dressed up or down which makes them really versatile.
- I also found these Christmas pj’s for Sloane that I think are adorable. How many is too many to have haha?
- How gorgeous is this dress?! Would be so pretty with tall brown boots for Thanksgiving.
