If you know me by now, you know that I am all about the ruffle trend! Which I actually think is so out of character for me. I love clean, simple lines and not a lot of ‘fluff’. Classic pieces make up the majority of my closet, so it actually surprises me that I love to wear ruffles so much. I wore them all summer long (see this post and this post) and now retailers are incorporating my favorite trend into Fall fashion #yesplease
People either love ’em or hate ’em. But I just don’t know how you could hate them! They are everywhere! They make you feel girly and feminine and oh so pretty. And how can you resist a good ruffle on a SWEATER? I mean, that is just genius!

Ok enough about my love for ruffles. Over the weekend, Kurt was out of town on a bachelor party and I got SO much done. I needed a weekend ‘off’ so I could tackle my closet. We moved almost a year ago and I remember moving in and feeling so organized. My closet was whittled down to just the right amount and all of my cupboards and cabinets were so very organized. Well, it’s been almost a year and now I feel bombarded with stuff. We have done a good job with keeping the kitchen organized, but my closet is a disaster zone. So, with Kurt being away, I decided to finally go thru and clean out everything that I wasn’t wearing. Does anyone else find this extremely difficult? I always think I will re-wear it again especially because it’s been hidden and now I see it again haha. But I know that isn’t the case.
Growing up my dad always told me that if your closet is jam packed, then how do you have room for new stuff? #pointtaken So growing up I took that philosophy to heart and purged just about everything at least twice a year. I was still on my parents budget, so it was more easy to talk my parents into a whole new wardrobe. Well that’s not quite the reality anymore. I can’t go out and purchase an entire wardrobe every season. But I did take the time to get rid of everything I haven’t worn in six months or longer. Living in Chicago, we seriously lack the space so I have to stay super organized. And now I have room for more Fall shopping!!!! Don’t you think the hubby will enjoy that? 🙂

My most favorite way to sell my clothes is thru Poshmark (you can find my profile here). If you haven’t used it before-it’s really simple. You list something for whatever you think it’s worth and Poshmark calculates how much you will get after a sale (they take a cut of your profit). Once someone bids and buys the item, Poshmark emails you a shipping label. You pack it up and ship it off. And once the buyer gets the item, you receive your money! And you can cash out at anytime. Postmark will send you a check or deposit it directly into your checking account. I love selling my clothes this way because it’s easy and fun. I feel like I have my own little boutique! And when all else fails and no one wants your items, I end up donating them.
