Is it just me or does it feel like this summer is just flying by?  I mean we are already to mid-August!!  It’s just crazy.  This time of year, I always start to get so excited because fall is my absolute favorite.  There are just so many fun fall activities to do and don’t even get me started on all of the fall fashion!  I live for the days when the sun is out in full force, there is football on in the background (don’t tell my hubby that I actually sort of enjoy it!), and it’s warm enough to wear a comfy sweater, jeans, sunglasses and cute sneakers.  If that’s not perfection, I don’t know what is!

Lately, it has even felt like fall outside, well sort of.  Ok, maybe not the last few days, but I’m pretending the humid weather doesn’t exist anymore.  Am I the only one loving this weather?  It’s cool at night and perfect to take the pup for long walks.  She HATES the humidity and hot days- I mean, hello, she would rather pull a sled.  And it’s still hot enough to go to the pool during the day.  Crossing my fingers that the humidity is gone for good!  Myself and my hair thank you!

I know I love fall, but I also like to soak up every last ounce I can of the summer.  Living in Chicago, I have learned to take full advantage of the beautiful weather during the spring and summer months.  I mean you just have to. We don’t put up with below zero temps, tons of snow and the strongest wind for nothing.  So lately, that’s exactly what Kurt and I have been doing- taking full advantage of the beautiful weather Chicago has been having.

A few weeks ago I wore this striped top to dinner for Kurt’s birthday (see it here on Instagram) and I just fell in love with it.  I have really had a thing this summer for stripes!  And then you add this cute ruffle to it and I just can’t stop wearing it!

    I love this outfit – that top is seriously gorgeous!
    I feel ya regarding summer ending so quickly! I hate humid weather and Fall is my favorite season but I still wish I had more time to enjoy warm weather haha!
